For museum enthusiasts the city of Bayreuth has more museum addresses worth seeing.
Steep steps lead down from the AKTIEN brewery into underground, labyrinth-like rock cellars, where once the fresh beer ripened. Marvel at a panopticon of city history, craft tradition, brewery history and oddities.
Historical Tobacco Collection of the B.A.T
An exhibit of a collection of more then 500 objects, documents and graphics of the British American Tobacco – conveys the history of tobacco culture, all around smoke tobacco, snuff tobacco and chewing tobacco.
Time travel through the world of porcelain under the motto “to go with the time” is a journey through the fascination of porcelain in changing times. (1899-1999) – four stations with walk in stage settings, striking, interesting and in the context of time, “live”.
School Museum in the Richard Wagner Gymnasium
The school museum in the Richard Wagner Gymnasium shows the development of the school from the private higher tuition school of 1867 to a modern, coeducational led gymnasium.
The German Typewriter Museum
The start of a collection of historic typewriters goes back to the year 1936, when the former “German Institute for short hand and typing” in Bayreuth began the training of teachers for the corresponding subject.
The other Museum
The other museum is where until the end of 2012 the little poster museum was: in a former work shop.
In the year 2003 the city set up a memorial of Wilhelm Leuschner in the district of Mörtzhöfen and the house he was born in, which shows in three rooms the different stations of his life. The house is privately owned.
