2. Experience nature

Hiking, walking and getting out into the countryside: nearby holiday regions such as the Fichtelgebirge, Franconian Switzerland or the Frankenwald are waiting for you.

3. Summer tastes better

At dusk, people sit at the tables of a street café on a cobbled street, while warm light shines from the surrounding buildings and bicycles are parked nearby. Trees and awnings shade the lively scene.

In summer, Bayreuth becomes a festival town – and this year, as we celebrate 150 years of the Richard Wagner Festival, it is accompanied by many varied anniversary events away from the Green Hill.

5. A summer of culture in the town

On a sunny day, people sit on chairs watching an open-air concert. Some are holding drinks, a child sits on an adult’s shoulders, and tents and a stage with performers can be seen in the background.

6. The Hermitage and its fountains

Baroque gardens, fountains and lots of greenery – that is what awaits you at Bayreuth’s Hermitage. Of course, it all looks especially lovely in the sunshine, but you can also enjoy a visit to the park when it rains and, for example, tour the palaces.
