If you do not have your own skates, you can hire some at the ice rink.

A special experience for ice hockey fans

The Bayreuth ice rink is a special experience for ice hockey fans of all ages. The arena holds up to 5,000 spectators and offers a great atmosphere in which to enjoy the games to the full. The “Tigerkäfig” (Tiger Cage) is the home ground of the Bayreuth Tigers.

Great location: in the heart of the Sportpark

The ice rink is located in Bayreuth’s Sportpark, the centre of most of the activities of Bayreuth’s sports scene. Within walking distance you will find

  • the Oberfrankenhalle, a multi-purpose arena for training by local clubs, national and international sporting highlights and events
  • the Hans-Walter-Wild-Stadion, Bayreuth’s football and athletics stadium, named after the former Lord Mayor of Bayreuth Hans Walter Wild

The SVB-Hallenbad indoor pool, with swimming pool, sauna and adjoining restaurant, is located in the building next to the ice rink.

The Oberfrankenhalle/Sportpark multi-storey car park is not far from the ice rink.

The ice rink in summer

Even though the hot summer months are not suitable for winter sports, the stadium is used during this time for activities such as street hockey or artistic roller skating.
