An easy cycle tour through Bayreuth
An easy bike ride – suitable for every fitness level. Besides the city’s unique landmarks, this tour also takes in favourite corners of Bayreuth’s students.
Route description
The starting point is Bäckerei Lang on Jean-Paul-Straße.
After 100 m on Friedrichstraße heading out of town, you reach a junction where you turn right towards Moritzhöfen as far as the Röhrensee.
Following the path further, you reach the university campus.
Via Emil-Warburg-Weg you cycle back to Jean-Paul-Straße and straight into the Hofgarten.
Along Richard-Wagner-Straße you ride into the city centre. At Sternplatz the route continues into Opernstraße.
The path leads past the Canale Grande, right onto Luitpoldplatz and then up the hill.
Ride past the railway station and follow the road up to the Green Hill (Grüner Hügel).
From there the tour continues to St. Georgen. Via Bernecker Straße towards Laineck you reach Eremitagestraße.
After 250 m leave this road and take Max-Rieß-Weg to Steinachstraße.
From the Hermitage the tour continues towards St. Johannis and back via Wilhelminenaue.
