If you are planning your next outing and feel like getting some exercise, we have just the thing for you – the Schamusi-Weg! (Distance from Bayreuth: 21 km)
Along the roughly two-kilometre circular trail, which is perfect for a family outing, through the Fichtelgebirge, the Schamusis lie hidden. These are colourful crocheted soft toys and mythical creatures sitting at the side of the path or in the trees. Children in particular have great fun discovering the different Schamusis. This makes the hike child’s play! And the climb up to the Gänskopfhütte is managed without any effort!
The start and finish point is the hikers’ car park in Eckartsreuth near Weidenberg. The circular walk takes about half an hour to three quarters of an hour.
At weekends, you can also stop for refreshments at the Gänskopfhütte on the Schamusi-Weg. There the whole family can refuel with hearty snacks or homemade cakes.
From there you have a magnificent view over the region. The descent is easy to manage.
