A cycle tour across the city
An extended loop around Bayreuth’s wider city centre. Several inns invite you to pause along the way.
Route description
The tour starts below the railway station at Annecyplatz. Heading west, follow the cycle path along the Red Main out of town. At Oberobsang you ride through the industrial estate to reach Thurnauer Weg. Thurnauer Weg joins Egerstraße and leads into the south of Bayreuth, to the Altstadt district. Via Spitzwegstraße the route continues to Röhrensee and finishes at the University of Bayreuth. Passing under Universitätsstraße, you ride towards the Jewish cemetery. Along Königsallee follow the path towards Untere Röth to Äußere Badstraße. You then continue on Ellrodtweg along the Red Main until you reach Sternplatz in Bayreuth’s city centre.
