The children's and youth library has up-to-date media from picture books to the Toniebox, plenty of space for reading aloud, playing and discovering, and a colourful programme of events and activities.

The children’s library in the RW21 offers you a wide range of media: picture books, Tonies, comics, films, reading backpacks, fantasy novels and much more!

Plenty of space and cosy seating invite you to read aloud, play and discover.

Our free story times for children aged 4 and over take place twice a week: on Wednesdays at 4 pm and on Saturdays at 11 am. There are funny, interesting and exciting stories to listen to. After the reading, the children draw or do crafts to go with the story. Our volunteer readers look forward to your visit!

In addition, every second Friday of the month there is a picture-book cinema, which offers an unforgettable visual treat. In the darkened Black Box, the illustrations from the book are projected in large format onto a screen while the story is read aloud. In this way, children’s language and reading skills are strengthened with lots of fun and almost incidentally. Admission is free.

For nurseries and schools we offer a broad range of library education: from class tours and media boxes to the school newsletter and reading promotion with Antolin. All events and information about the children’s and youth library can be found on the city library’s website: https://stadtbibliothek.bayreuth.de/
