2. Trip to the Fichtelgebirge and Stiftland
Striking rock formations, sleepy little towns, idyllic lakes and the most beautiful peaks
Route: Bayreuth – Bischofsgrün – Warmensteinach – Fichtelberg with the Fichtelsee – Luisenburg – Bad Alexandersbad – Waldsassen – Hohenberg – Bad Weißenstadt am See (formerly just “Weißenstadt”) – Gefrees – Bad Berneck – Goldkronach – Bayreuth
3. Trip through the Upper Main Valley to Bamberg
Castles and palaces, gentle ridges, medieval charm and beer culture
Route: Bayreuth – Memmelsdorf (Seehof Palace) – Scheßlitz (Giechburg and Gügel) – Bamberg – Forchheim – Gößweinstein – Bayreuth
4. Trip through the Upper Main Valley to Coburg
Winding old-town lanes, picturesque half-timbered houses, fortified walls and towers
