Even when temperatures in the surrounding area are warm, hiking in the forests of the Fichtelgebirge is very pleasant.
The hike starts at the Seehaus hikers’ car park and leads through the forest, following the Fränkischer Gebirgsweg (Franconian Mountain Trail) all the way. After a few kilometres you pass the Seehaus, where you can order a cool drink or something to eat. We will pass by here again later, so it is a good idea to take your break then and carry on along the trail for now. You soon reach two flights of steps, one after the other, which lead up to a viewpoint over the Fichtelgebirge. An incredibly beautiful view across the treetops stretches out before you. Back on the Fränkischer Gebirgsweg, the path continues to the Schneeberg. Alternatively, you can head to the Röslaquelle spring and drink fresh spring water. Whichever option you choose, the trail leads back to the Seehaus, where you can stop for a short break and a bite to eat. From there you continue past the car park to the Fichtelsee lake. A swim there is a welcome way to cool off after this great hike.
Enjoy your hike!
