Over the Green Hill to the Siegesturm and Zur Theta
Over a few hills, this Festival Theatre loop rewards you with a breathtaking view of the Wagner city.
Route description for the Festival Theatre loop
Starting at the main railway station, the tour climbs the Green Hill (Grüner Hügel) through the attractive Festival Park and past the world-famous Bayreuth Festival Theatre. Continue uphill along Bürgerreuth; at the end of the road you enter woodland, with the Hohe Warte hospital on the right. After a short, very steep climb you come on the left to the adventure playground, with seats and benches. The tour then follows beautiful rooty paths and a small, narrow stream as far as Zur Theta. On the way back, the Siegesturm rewards you with a fine view over Bayreuth. The round viewing platform 17 metres up also offers a panorama of the region. The return of the Festival Theatre loop continues through the forest. At the Festival Theatre you descend again towards the city centre to the starting point.
