Bayreuth is also home to a specialised museum for tools used to run a farm.

The Museum of Farming Tools was opened in 1975. The core of the collection goes back to the agricultural teacher Günter Schmidt (1922-2002).

Since the end of the 1950s, he had been collecting old farming tools and rural household equipment. In addition to a section of old tractors, the collection focuses on equipment for tilling fields, harvesting grain, processing flax, laundry and preparing food.

Good to know: The museum also has various rooms that can be hired for birthday parties or weddings. In addition, the cultural service centre of the district of Upper Franconia is located in the former stable house of the Lettenhof.
