Twice a year, shops in Bayreuth open on a Sunday. On these Sunday shopping days, local retailers prepare special offers and promotions for you.
On these Sundays, both Bayreuth’s city centre and the Rotmain-Center open their doors for a relaxed shopping experience. Whether you want to stroll through town, spend an easy afternoon with family or friends, or get your shopping done, the retailers in the city centre and the Rotmain-Center look forward to your visit. And of course, our local restaurants and cafés invite you to enjoy their culinary delights.
Sunday shopping in spring
The first Sunday shopping day of the year usually takes place together with the Bayreuth Mobility Days. During the Mobility Days, the entire city centre turns into an exhibition space for cars, bicycles, e-mobility, alternative forms of transport and much more.
Alongside all things mobility, Bayreuth’s retailers and restaurants present their wonderful offers. From 1 pm to 6 pm it’s time to shop, discover and enjoy!
Sunday shopping at the Martinimarkt
In early November, the second Sunday shopping day is the highlight of the Martinimarkt (St. Martin’s Market). On these days, booths and stalls with clothing and delicacies, together with attractive offers from local retailers, draw many visitors into the city centre. The Martinimarkt is a traditional fair that has been held for decades and is very popular with locals. Almost 50 stalls sell spices, wool, traditional handicrafts from the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), food and much more.
