The school museum at the Richard-Wagner-Gymnasium shows how the school developed from the private Höhere Töchterschule (secondary school for girls) of 1867 into a modern, co-educational grammar school.
A development typical of former “girls’ schools” in the Protestant regions of Franconia. You can also trace to what extent and in what way political events (the First World War, the National Socialist dictatorship, the building of democracy after ’45) influenced school life.
Historical teaching and learning materials, scientific experimental equipment, pupils’ work and an extensive collection of school reports round off this excursion into the history of education.
