The way to the heart is through the stomach: a look into the zoo’s feed kitchen
The different animal species need a balanced diet tailored to their needs.
On this tour we take a look behind the scenes and watch the feed being prepared. The most important types of feed and their ingredients are presented. The tour also explains why uncontrolled feeding by visitors is harmful to the animals.
Finally, we are there when some of the species are fed, and visitors are allowed to lend a hand.

Guests from the Land of Smiles – the fauna and flora of China at Tierpark Röhrensee
China is home to an enormous variety of plant and animal species, some of which can also be found at Tierpark Röhrensee. On the tour we encounter, among others, the rare Temminck’s tragopan from the Himalayan mountains, the small muntjacs, the foxglove tree and Père David’s maple, whose name commemorates Father Armand David, one of the most important explorers of China’s flora and fauna.
