# Margravial Opera House gets visitor centre and museum

The adjoining building of the Margravial Opera House will become a museum with a World Heritage information center. **The opening ceremony** is planned for **April 21, 2023**. On **April 22, 2023**, there will be **an open day** with free entry for all citizens. 

The Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth was **declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012**. Part of the building ensemble, the Margravial Comedy and Redoutenhaus, has been undergoing renovations since autumn 2019. 

The permanent exhibition that is being created here will show** the outstanding position of the Margravial Opera House** and **the baroque theater and opera culture** under Margravine Wilhelmine. It presents interesting facts about the Margravine and the architect of the well-known building, theater life on and behind the stage as well as Bayreuth theater history. The **World Heritage Information Center** will also be set up there.
