# Bayreuth successfully featured in the New York Times’ “52 Places to Go in 2026” list

Right at the beginning of the year, the Bayreuth Tourism Board (BMTG) received good news from the USA: Due to the Bayreuth Festival’s major anniversary, the city was included in the New York Times’ list of “52 Places to Go in 2026.” The list, compiled based on recommendations from correspondents, ranks Bayreuth 12th as a “Place to Go” in 2026. The festival’s 150th anniversary is cited as the reason for its inclusion. Among other things, the use of AI in the Ring cycle and the opera Rienzi, added to the program specifically for the anniversary, were decisive factors in its inclusion.
